1st Newington Scout Group (View Current Listings) (View About Me Page)

All items being sold in our auctions are to raise additional funds for the 1st Newington Scout Group near Sittingbourne, Kent. Our Headquarters & grounds were damaged by vandalism in the summer of 2004, which resulted in repairs in excess of £600. Repairs are ongoing as is maintenance for the hall etc. Funds are stretched to meet the costs. As well as this unexpected additional expense, the Group's funds are used to support events such as camps, hikes, events at Beaver, Cub and Scout meetings etc.

Our new fundraising mission for the New Year is to raise as much money as we can to subsidise fees to allow more Scouts to go to the Jamboree in July (NorJam 2006). All items being offered in our auctions are donated by members of the Group, parents and friends. Please look at everything we have for sale and bid generously to enable the only youth organisation that's available to kids within this village to remain active, with money in the bank.

Many thanks in anticipation of your support!

Haworth Cat Rescue (View Current Listings) (View About Me Page)

Haworth Cat Rescue was originally set up by a group of Haworth women to try and improve the lot of abandoned and neglected cats in the area.   The charity is purely local, run by volunteers with no paid employees, and receives no head office or central funding.  We enjoy a good reputation locally and cover a wide area including Halifax, Bradford, Huddersfield, Skipton and their environs, together with the Haworth/Keighley area.

In 1998 we won the Friskies Petcare Foundation Award for the best cat rescue in Britain. Our aims are to rescue, neuter (where appropriate) and rehome where possible, cats which have been neglected or abandoned.   We never have cats put to sleep because they are unhomeable - they simply stay with us as long as they need to.
