Autopsy Tape up for Bids on eBay

Brother of the supposed assassin of Martin Luther King has announced the listing for bids of his brother's autopsy tape on the eBay auction site. The brother of James Earl Ray, Jerry Ray, made the announcement at the Civil Rights Museum in Memphis during a press conference.

He has maintained for a long time that the bullet fired from his brother's rifle was not the one that killed King and over the last many years he has fought a legal battle to gain possession of the rifle for forensic tests.

However, the State of Tennessee passed legislation in 1998 to retain ownership of the rifle and place it in the Civil Rights Museum. Proceeds from the sale of the autopsy tape will benefit Ray's ongoing legal efforts. The Conspiracy Museum of Dallas also announced its intention to obtain the rifle for additional testing. In 1997 Joe Brown, Memphis Judge, said tests had shown the bullet that killed King did not match those fired from James Earl Ray's rifle. Further planned tests were apparently never conducted.

eBay can be searched here for further information on the listing.
