eBay Launches new Site in Poland

Following the recent announcement of first quarter earnings up 28% on the same period last year, the global online auction company eBay has released information to the press about the launch of a new country website.

Thousands of people in Poland have already been using eBay for some time and the launch of an eBay site specifically for Poland will allow individuals and eBay Shops in that country to list and sell their goods and services using local currency pricing as well as internationally.

Said Matt Bannick, eBay International president, in a statement to the press "We are pleased to expand our footprint into Eastern Europe and bring new opportunities to a growing community of e-commerce users." Bannick continued, "Many thousands of people in Poland are already using eBay, and we look forward to working with them to build their own dedicated website."

This most recent step in eBay’s plans to continue leading the global online auction community reinforces the need for eBay users focusing their sales efforts through their own eBay shops to rise to the challenge of increasing competition within the eBay community. An independent eBay shops directory has recently been launched and eBay Shops are now starting to come together within this externally promoted directory to complement corporate eBay’s generic pan-global marketing initiatives.
