Want-it-Now

Sometimes, it is useful to set up two eBay accounts – for example, you may wish to sell two different types of merchandise and therefore want to have a user ID (nickname) that reflects your different product lines.

But what happens if you want to drop one of those product lines and concentrate on the other – you don’t want to loose the valuable feedback and reputation that you have built up by closing one of the accounts.

eBay allows you to merge two accounts into one and to retain both sets of feedback. Here’s how it works……

  • Account you want to keep with ID [keepme], with feedback of 200 and email address 1stemail@xyz.net

  • Account you do not want to keep with ID [looseme], with feedback of 100 and email address 2ndemail@xyz.net

Becomes the merged account…..

  • Account you want to keep with ID [keepme], with feedback of 300 and email address 2ndemail@xyz.net

However, there are some requirements that have to be met before eBay will permit the accounts to be merged:-

  • You have to prove that you own both accounts and this is usually demonstrated by the fact that the contact information is the same on both accounts.
  • The account you do not want to keep must be inactive for a minimum of 60 days before the merge although you can, of course, continue using the account you want to keep.
  • The must be no outstanding balance on the account you do not want to keep – you must have paid all eBay fees.
  • All subscriptions for additional services such as Selling Manager Pro should be cancelled on the account you do not want to keep.

Once two accounts have been merged, you are not allowed to repeat the process by merging a third account.
