Internet marketing is great for reaching a mass audience, but you also want to attract as much repeat business as possible. Including a printed flyer when you send items to your buyers helps make sure that as many people as possible visit your shop again and again.

So eBay provides a set of tools to help you create promotional flyers which you can print and include with the packaging, or even distribute to your local community to help promote your eBay Shop and its products.

First go to "Manage Your Shop" and select "Shop Promotional Flyer":-

  • Take a look at the default settings which include features used for customising the “look and feel” of the flyers, as well as its’ contents. In its standard format, the flyer will fit onto a single sheet of A4 paper. If you change the layout or choose an alternate border might make the flyer go over a second page when you print it.

  • The standard header can be set up to include the name of your Shop together with its description, its’ URL on the eBay site, the logo you selected when you created your shop and your eBay ID or nickname. By default, the colour scheme you selected for your shop will also be used in the header.

  • Using a border for the page can help to make it more distinctive and appealing. There are a number of options for the border style which you can select along with the colour scheme, if you wish to make this different from your shop’s standard colour.

  • You can include a specific message to your buyers, together with your eBay Shop HTML tags and pictures. In the item showcase section, you can specify up to four picture items that you want to appear – alternatively, eBay can autoselect these for you from recent listings.

  • You can use selection criteria to define which items you want to include on the flyer and these can appear as a standard list or in gallery view. Up to 50 items can be specified.

  • If you have active promotion boxes, you can include these on the flyer too.

  • Other information about your shop – for example payment methods, postage rates or returns policy can be included on the flyer.

At any time, you can select the Preview Flyer option to take a look at what the printed flyer will look like. When you’re happy with how things look, click on “Save Settings” and “Print Flyer” which will save your selections and open a new window for printing the flyer.
