Whenever a prospective buyer views, bids for or wins an item you
have listed in your shop, a selection of your other listings are
automatically displayed. This helps maximise your selling opportunities.
eBay performs this cross-promotion for you automatically
using other listed items that belong to the same category in your shop.
Rules can be created to define relationships between categories,
so you could build a rule that promotes listed items from your “Foot Care”
category every time someone bids on an item listing from your “Trainers”
category.
Standard cross-promotion preferences can be customised to
determine which items are displayed. As an example, you could decide that the
items which end first are cross-promoted in preference to listings with
longer durations.
You can change cross-promotion preferences by selecting "Cross-promotion
preferences" on the Default Cross-Promotions page. You can also choose a
single listing on which to have a unique set of cross promotion items.
There is also a cross promotion facility in the Checkout phase,
so you have the option to present additional items which may be of interest
to someone who has just bought one of your items before they leave your “domain”.
