Every member of eBay has access to an “About Me” page, which can be used as your own mini website.

You can use simple templates to create a profile about yourself, your interests and hobbies as well as giving information about your policies and terms and conditions if you are a seller,or have an eBay shop.

If you are able to write HTML, then you can set up the About Me page to look like a professionally produced website. You can even find listings on eBay itself which contain templates and guides for making your About Me page “stand out from the crowd”.

eBay allows the About Me page to be used to describe a seller's business activities, and may also include links to the seller's own web site. You can also include hyperlinks to your About Me page on your listed items, provided this is for the purpose of providing additional information such as your rates for postage or similar trading policies.

However, it is not allowed to promote sales of specific items outside of the eBay marketplace, so you cannot, for example, provide links from About Me to items which you have for sale on your own website. But you can provide links to your own website if it is for the purpose of providing additional information about an item you have listed on eBay – for example additional technical specifications or product reviews.

Also, you are not allowed to link to “commercial web sites where goods from multiple sellers are aggregated by a common search engine”. That means you are not allowed to link to eBay’s competitors in the online auction or online shopping marketplace.
