Whilst many eBay buyers are quite happy to wait for 3 days, 5
days or even 10 days for an auction to end; some are not, and want to make
their purchase instantly.
So you can offer buyers the instant purchase option of “Buy It
Now” on listings, using either the fixed price format, or the conventional
auction style listing.
If you opt for a listing to be in Fixed Price format, all you
need to do is enter the price at which you are prepared sell your item and then
a buyer is able to place a bid for that amount and the purchase is completed
immediately.
To qualify to sell items using the Fixed Price format it is
necessary for you to have:-
- Minimum
feedback of 10
- OR, be verified
for Direct Debits for paying eBay fees
- OR, have a
minimum of 5 feedback score AND accept PayPal as your method of payment.
If you are using traditional auction format listings, you can
include Buy it Now as an option. This will allow buyers to place a bid in the
normal way or alternatively to select the Buy it Now option by entering a bid
equal to the amount that you specified for an instant purchase. As soon as
the Buy it Now option is selected by a buyer, the auction will end and you
will be sent an automatic notification by eBay.
If a buyer submits a bid (and the bid meets the reserve price if
you have set one) then the Buy It Now icon is removed and the auction proceeds
to a conclusion in the normal way.
You can also sell multiple items in a single listing using Buy It
Now, but to qualify, you will need:-
- To have
been registered with eBay for at least14 days and also to have attained
a 20+ feedback score.
- OR be
registered for Direct Debits for the payment of eBay’s fees.
- OR Accept
PayPal for seller payments AND have at least 10 feedback score.
For Buy it Now, used in conjunction with auction format listings,
the minimum opening bid must be at least £0.99.
