When you first registered as an eBay member, the currency in
which eBay bills you for the various auction fees, upgrades and extra
facilities such as Selling Manager Pro, was defined. By default, for example,
if you joined eBay UK, then you will be
billed in GB Pounds Sterling.
But you can choose to be billed in a different specific currency if
you wish, provided that:-
- The balance
on your existing account must be current – i.e. payments must not be
overdue.
- Only one change
of billing currency is allowed in any 12 month period.
- GB Pounds
Sterling, U.S. dollars, Euros, Canadian dollars, New Taiwan Dollars and Australian
dollars are the only currencies which eBay will use.
- You need
to provide a credit card if you wish to change your
billing currency to either U.S. dollars or to Canadian dollars.
To change your billing currency, go to the eBay Help Page
entitled “Changing Billing Currency” and select the “change your billing
currency” option. Then simply follow the instructions.
eBay will open a new currency account using your existing
User ID and all fees will then be invoiced to the new currency account.
You will have to pay your old account in full not more than two
billing cycles from the date of switching to the new account. During this
switchover period, eBay will send you separate invoices for these two
accounts until such time as the original account has been cleared to a zero
balance.
