Shops and professional sellers using the standard facilities for creating products (inventory) in Selling Manager Pro can find this a laborious process, especially if you have hundreds of different product lines.

If you already have product details on your own PC, using the “Import from CSV file” (Comma Separated Value) feature in SMP makes importing your inventory information a much more efficient process than performing the same task manually.

We recommend you visit the eBay Help pages (here’s a link to the main site) which has full details of eBay’s CSV data template and the Inventory data table file specifications.

When the CSV file is read by Selling Manager Pro and imported into the product inventory system, you will see a confirmation message that the import has been completed. Any errors will be reported to you via email which will contain a detailed error message so you can correct the error and transmit the data file again.

It is best to keep your upload file to less than 15MB in size and a maximum of 450 templates. It can take half an hour or even more to process a large CSV file upload, but you can monitor progress via the “File Management Centre” navigation area using the “File Activity” hyperlink.
