High volume sellers or eBay Shop owners with their own product detail files may wish to transfer this data to Selling Manager Pro rather than re-key the information manually.

This can be achieved by using eBay’s Comma Separated Value (CSV) template to upload product data directly into the SMP product files.

eBay recommends that a maximum number of 450 templates should be uploaded in any one file transfer – uploading can take half an hour or more and given the risk of temporary interrupts in internet connection, it is prudent to stay within this limit.

For fuller details about eBay’s CSV uploads, please use the Google search box below, or you can go via our link to eBay UK where their Help pages provide good advice and file format specifications. In summary, the upload process is quite straightforward:-

  • Go to the “Sellers Tools” page and select “File Management”.

  • Download the eBay Inventory template by selecting “Upload Inventory”.

  • Complete the template form by filling out the Site ID, Selling format, Title, Description, Category, Quantity, Duration, and Location fields.

  • When you have filled out the template form, select “Save”.

  • Use the “Browse” function to select the file for uploading and click the Upload Inventory button.

Large file uploads can take some considerable time to complete. “File Management Centre” contains an “Uploads” area where you can select "File Activity Link" to display a progress bar which will indicate how much of the upload process has been completed.
