If you have an eBay shop, you can build promotional boxes to be
displayed on your pages. The boxes are customisable display boards that can
be used to advertise featured items you have for sale, or to announce special
offers, or just about anything else you can think of.
To build and manage your shop promotion boxes, first go to “Manage
Your Shop” where you will find two options:-
- The guided
setup page includes template promotion boxes. All you need to do is use
these guidelines to create customised entries that will be displayed on your
custom category pages.
- From “Manage
Promotion Boxes”, you will be able to create promotion boxes and also examine
where they appear within the different types of page in your shop. Boxes
may be copied, deleted or set to “inactive” and saved for use again when
you need them.
Promotion boxes can be set up on almost any shop page including
the storefront homepage, custom category pages and custom pages.
For each page, you can choose where promotion boxes will be
positioned:-
- One or two
boxes can be placed towards the top of the page, immediately beneath the
header, but above the items listing. You can also opt for a single wide
box if that is better suited to your graphics or text.
- An upper
and lower promotion box can be located underneath the left-hand
navigation bar and will be applied to all pages.
There are a number of different types of promotion box:-
- The generic
box can be configured to show either one picture and its link, or two
item pictures and associated links
- The custom
text and HTML option allows you to type in text descriptions or, if you
know how to use HTML, you can build just about any creative design you
will ever need.
- The custom
links box enables you to show 4, 8 or 10 links to other shop pages,
custom categories or customised search results.
- The graphics
option allows you to include hyperlinked photographs or other images so
that visitors can navigate directly to the item listings you want to
promote. With this option, the box border is omitted.
You also have promotion box options that are customised to:-
- Newly listed
items.
- Items ending
soon.
- Showcased
items.
- Newsletters.
- Payment,
postage, packing and insurance details.
