When high volume sellers or eBay Shops build up a loyal customer base, they sometimes wish to restrict bidding on a specific item listing to a select list of clientele.

  • For each individual listing, you can build a list of bidders who are pre-approved

  • You can have as many lists as you wish, but only one per item listing.

  • Each list contains the eBay member IDs who can place bids on your item.

  • If a member is not included in the pre-approved bidders list, they have to email with a request for approval before they are allowed to make a bid.

  • Since the pre-approved bidders list relates to a single specific item listing, your other listings are not restricted unless you set up lists for those too.

  • Member IDs can be added or deleted at any time up to the listing end date/time.

If you have not created a pre-approved bidders list at the start of the auction and there are less than 12 hours before listing ends, you are not allowed to create a list. If there are members with whom you do not wish to trade, you can block specific bidders, but this will apply to all of your auctions.
