Selling Manager Pro stores information about the products you
have for sale, together with templates that you can use repeatedly when you
want to list items.
The product file assists you in keeping track of your stock quantities
and purchase costs. You can set up one or more listing templates for each product.
You can have a product without necessarily having an associated listing
template, but a listing template always needs to have a product.
When you first set up a new product, you need only enter the
product name; other information such as quantities, cost price etc can be entered
at a later time. Creating a product and it’s associated listing template is a
straightforward process:-
- Select the
Inventory View from Selling Manager Pro and click “Create Product”.
- From the “Create
New Product” page, key in a Product Name.
- Enter any other
information you wish at this stage, including available quantity, part number/reference,
average unit cost price etc.
- SMP will
automatically alert you if stock levels fall below a specified quantity
(Quantity Alert) which you can enter now, together with contact details
for your supplier. Save the product when you are finished.
- Now click
on “Save & Create Listing” which will display the template form of “Sell
Your Item”.
- Just
complete the template “Sell your Item” form in the same way you would
for a normal item listing and then save this when you are finished. When
you want to create a live listing for a product item, just select the relevant
product from “Inventory View” and use the template you created earlier.
You can make changes to the actual listing if you wish, or use the
standard template as is.
As soon as you list a product item, SMP will adjust the stock
levels by reducing the quantity available for listing and increasing the
number “selling”.
