Selling Manager Pro creates a sales record for each item that you sell and this contains useful information about the buyer, the selling prices, postage costs etc. Sales records are retained on the eBay system for a maximum of four months.

You might wish to keep the sales records for long term analysis or reference and if so, you will need to download these records from eBay to your own PC. In SMP, select File Management Centre, where you can:-

  • Request downloading of your sales record history by clicking “File Management Centre” under “Seller Tools” in the right hand menu.

  • On the “File Management Centre” page, click on the “Create a Download Request” option.

  • You can now choose which type of listings and records you wish to download – e.g. you might want only those sales records which you have previously archived.

  • You can select a date range for the download by entering the “from” and “to” dates.

  • Confirm the destination email address which, by default, is the one you have recorded in your eBay contact details, or enter and confirm a different email address if you wish.

  • Click “submit” when you are finished.

It will sometimes take the eBay system a few hours to process your download request. When this action has been completed, you will receive an email containing the link to your download file. The file will be in .csv format (comma separated values) which is easily read and re-formatted using Excel.

Use the file open function in Excel to access the .csv file. The Text Import Wizard will appear – select the “delimited” radar button option and at the next step, select the comma separated option. A preview of the data will appear which you can accept or change.
