When sellers use a standard auction format or a Buy-it Now format, they are only allowed to sell a single item on each listing and are charged a listing fee on the basis that only a single item is being made available for sale.

Sellers listing a single item, but then using the item description to offer to sell additional items; is not permitted as eBay considers this practice to be an avoidance of due listing fees.

If a seller wishes to make multiple quantities available for sale in a single listing, this must be done by using the following special auction formats:-

• A Dutch Auction listing may contain multiple identical items for sale. The auction will contain a specified number of items for sale which will be apportioned according to the high bidder’s required quantity, with any remainder being allocated to the second highest bidder.

• Fixed Price listings allow buyers to purchase item(s) at any time before the listing ends. They must agree to pay the price set by the seller and can purchase multiple quantities. All items must be identical, with the exception of colour, but the seller must have sufficient stock in all colours to satisfy demand if buyers choose only a single colour.
