eBay is not just an online auction website – it is a world-wide community with over 150 million members.

You can use eBay Groups to connect with other members sharing the same interests. There are many different groups, each one made up of people like you who meet one another through online forums, discussions or sometimes in person, to share ideas and exchange information.

Here are some of the things you can do with eBay groups:-

  • You can set up an online "thread” on your favourite eBay subject using the group discussion board.
  • Geographic search facilities can help you find a user group located near where you live.
  • Announcements about upcoming events can be posted on the group's Home page.
  • Your favourite pictures can be uploaded and shared with group members via photo albums.
  • An events calendar lets you schedule discussions, tutorials and other events for your group.

You can even use the group forums to organise polls where members can vote on subjects that are relevant to the interest group, but remember that eBay does have rules about the use of discussion boards and forums. For example, you are not allowed to post other members contact details (other than their eBay ID); and using the boards to promote your own eBay Shop or your own website, is not permitted.
